What stays on your phone, and the one thing that doesn’t.
Last updated 10 September 2026
The short version
Teacher Reminder has no accounts, no sign-in and no analytics. What you write stays on the phone you wrote it on. We can’t read your reminders, and there is nowhere for us to read them from.
One thing is different: if you switch notifications on, your device asks us to send it a nudge at certain times, and we have to store enough to do that. That is set out in full below.
What is stored on your device
Your reminders, the things you do every day, your name, room and grade, your school hours, your color choices and your settings are saved in the app’s own storage on your phone. They are never uploaded.
Because they live on the phone, clearing your browsing data deletes them, and they don’t follow you from one phone to another. Installing Teacher Reminder to your home screen is also what stops an iPhone clearing them after a week of not opening it — over a school break, for instance.
Save a Copy in the menu writes all of it to a single file that you keep. It goes wherever you put it — your own Google Drive, iCloud, an email to yourself — and never through us. Opening that file on another device brings everything back.
If you turn notifications on
Notifications are off unless you turn them on, and you can turn them off again at any time in the menu. While they are on, three things are stored on our server:
- the delivery address your phone generates for notifications, which identifies that install and nothing else;
- the times of day you asked to be reminded;
- your time zone, so those times mean what you meant by them.
Your reminders are not sent to us, and neither is a count of them. The notification we send is empty — the words and the number you see are put together on your own device as it is drawn.
Turning notifications off deletes that record. If your phone discards the subscription — because you cleared your data or removed the app — the record is deleted the next time we try to use it.
What we don’t do
There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts on this site or in the app. Nothing here sets a cookie. We don’t build a profile of you, and there is nothing to sell, share or hand on to anybody else.
We never ask for an email address or a password, so we don’t have either.
Students
Teacher Reminder is a tool for a teacher’s own working day. It isn’t intended to hold information about students, and nothing in it asks for any. What you type is up to you, and it stays on your device — but please treat it the way your school asks you to treat anything you write down about a child.
Where things are hosted
This site and the app are served by Vercel. If you use notifications, the subscription described above is held in a hosted database. Those providers process data on our behalf in order to serve the pages and send the notifications, and for nothing else.
Deleting everything
Turn notifications off to delete the only record we hold. To remove everything else, use Start Fresh in the app’s menu, or clear its data in your phone’s settings. Both are immediate and neither needs to go through us.
Changes
If what the product does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is the honest record of when.
